Microbiology & Immunology

Its missions is to educate and raise awareness of microbiological developments affecting all of society, this is accomplished through their Microbiology Awareness Week (MAW). MAW takes place during the semester and involves guest lecturers and events on topics of importance in our fascinating field. Additionally, the club has recently partnered with the American Society for Microbiology (ASM) to continue promoting and advancing the microbial sciences, as well as working to solve the world’s most demanding challenges. Open to all disciplines.

"The purpose of Biochemistry Club is to bring the students interested in Biochemistry together to create a network of students who share this common interest and to create an environment of community, scholarship, and cooperation within this discipline.
As the Biochemistry club we hope to foster a community among interdisciplinary students passionate about research and medicine through:

1. Emphasizing the aid of underclassmen with the knowledge and experience possessed by upperclassmen in regards to research selection, course scheduling, or career advice through our Peer Mentorship program 

2. Offering career advice in Pre-MD and Pre-PhD through grad student panels

3. Organizing specialized guest lecturer talks

4. Offering volunteer opportunities for members

5. Hosting a journal club where you can practice your scientific speaking skills, hone your research reading skills, work on your presentation confidence, and provides a tangible item to add to your CV in the form of presentations given."
